Most are made from Cotton or Silk. All have been imported from India, which has a rich history of Caftan designs and use, since the Mughal Era (1526 AD). Many are Embroidered with Sitara Work, Glass Crystals Work, Bead Work and Tassels. Some are traditional, authentic batik Caftans. Batik is a cloth that traditionally uses a manual wax-resist dyeing technique. Batik or fabrics with the traditional batik patterns have been used in India since 645 AD.
